Fiona Tsang began her career in immigration whilst a Volunteer Generalist Adviser at Northfield Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) in 2004. In 2007, she joined Harvey Son and Filby Solicitors (HSF) initially as a Caseworker. She qualified as a Solicitor at HSF in 2010 and continued to specialise in this field. She has handled a wide range of privately funded casework on behalf of individuals and businesses across the United Kingdom (UK) and abroad and established a wide client base primarily on client care and achieving positive outcomes.
Her ability to speak fluent Mandarin as well as Cantonese has been key in acquiring and reaching out to new Chinese clients. One of the highlights of her time at HSF was being involved as the Caseworker in TT (Long residence, "continuous residence", interpretation) British Overseas Citizen UKAIT 00038 (07 April 2008), whereby the client’s appeal was allowed after reconsideration and was consequently granted settlement in the UK. The case set a precedent on the interpretation of “continuous residence” for long residency. After four years with HSF, she joined the Birmingham City Centre CAB and assisted members of the public on immigration and asylum matters. She joined Genesis Law Associates in February 2015 after a career break to raise her family.
